MISSION STATEMENT
Concerned Ukrainian-Americans have united in a
coalition to coordinate activities to save the historic Ukrainian Orthodox
Church as our forefathers established it in the United States in the 1920s as
an integral part of the worldwide Autocephalous Ukrainian Orthodox Church based
in Kiev, Ukraine in 1921 and again in Kiev in 1990 under Patriarch Mstyslav I
after Ukraine's declaration of independence.
We call you to
ACTION! Join us in the fight. Contact
us. If you do not agree to the lawsuit against a member parish and the
continued abuses of power and autocratic authority, speak up! Join as members. Remember, the bishops
of Bound Brook stated it in court! They own
the property of every member parish.
This is their "implied" right. Do you agree?
WHO WE ARE AND WHAT WE SEEK
We are concerned Ukrainian Orthodox Christians from across America who have dedicated our lives to serving the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. God built this Church by His Holy Spirit working through our Ukrainian immigrant grandparents and parents and their dedicated clergy. We seek to protect and maintain our Church, so that we can pass on our Holy Faith to our children and to future generations. We commit ourselves and one another to seek Christ in all our thoughts, words, and deeds, for the future of our Church in America and in Ukraine. But we insist on maintaining the Ukrainian Orthodox Church as it is and has always been........an integral part of the Kyivan see. It is our heritage, our birthright.
BOUND BROOK BELONGS TO US
It belongs to the Ukrainian Orthodox faithful, NOT to Istanbul or Moscow. We lament the present situation which forces churches to "leave" Bound Brook, but understand and commiserate with their plight. They are now, where all of us were when Patriarch Mstyslav I was the Patriarch of Ukraine and the Diaspora....They have not changed their jurisdiction. The UOC-USA hierarchs have. We call upon all parishes to suspend their payments to the Consistory. We call on all to join with Holy Ascension parish of Clifton, NJ and support their legal battle against the autocratic authority.
Bound Brook's attorney said in court that
all parish property belongs to them... Believe it!
We condemn the unauthorized legal action against Holy Ascension: The exclusion of the Metropolitan Council and the Church Court in the decision to institute a lawsuit against a sister parish and our brothers in Christ. They have pit brother against brother, parish against parish! Is Bound Brook speaking for all parishes? If you remain silent the answer is yes...You are then a willing partner in this action.... a lawsuit, which is a threat to the very independence of all parishes and our Church's cherished Sobornopravnist. If Holy Ascension loses, we all lose. The Ukrainian Orthodox Church as we know it will be gone.
SOBORNOPRAVNA (PARISH RIGHTS OR HIERARCHICAL)
Forget parish corporate charters or by-laws... the court will decide. Are we hierarchical or have individual parish rights? The UOC-USA attorney argued that all parishes are subordinate to hierarchical authority. Think about it. If they are successful, will Sobors be needed? Will constitutional changes be needed? NO. A legal precedent will be established which will define the "new order" that can be used against any parish in any state....
Faithful parishioners, please support and join
branches organizing in your areas! Committees and organizations around the
country, send us your materials, inform us of your activities. Support a
coordinated effort to Save Our Church!
